It's seen as the spiritual successor to the Prince of Persia "Sands of Time" trilogy...AMAZING platformers that were very fun to play. I think that people are looking forward to having the ability to tackle missions in a non-linear fashion and being able to explore an ancient city. Plus the AI was very impressive in early demos (blending in with NPCs, crowd reaction to what you do, etc).
Unfortunately, it'll likely end up being a game that gets rave reviews but won't sell extremely well.
