This has little to do with Sony or Toshiba, Warner Brothers are the ones holding all the Aces and if as they are hinting they choose a single format to support then that will be the winner.
That said if they did not not choose a format then I think HD DVD has every chance of winning now that the public has been given the taste of sub $100 players. The houses will follow the public and the longer the wars goes on then it is probably better for the consumer as 99% could not care less and an upscaled DVD does a damn fine job.
