@Laoldar, I can see myself agreeing with that opinion, but I can also see myself agreeing with this scenario:
When HDDVD & Bluray become as cheap as DVD machines were when they first got popular among the mainstream, i.e. HDDVD & Bluray full featured players both at sub $150, and the software sub $20, and some new format is waiting in the wings that is very expensive with little to give beyond HDDVD/Bluray, people will pick up the cheap HDDVD/Bluray machines and software.
