He refers to CoD3 selling 3 million copies, and that wouldn't have been in one month...so I think he's talking about more than just monthly, but the article is so short it's hard to tell (note to gaming websites, stop being lazy...elaborate beyond the headline).
Either way, he's predicting 4 million in sales over 4 platforms. The only info they give to really back up their claims, is that some reports say that retail stores are selling out. Of course, Microsoft shipped a LOT more copies of Halo 3 than Activision sent of CoD4, so sell outs aren't going to give any concrete trends. Retailers could have ordered fewer copies based off of CoD3's sales.
I'm really quite annoyed when websites post articles like this. We have an analyst who might not know what they're talking about (we've seen plenty of cases of that recently), making a vague prediction without a timeline (is it one month, til end of 07, lifetime, ?) and they give virtually no reasoning for what they predict. I'm not sure whether this is the fault of the analyst, the writer or the website, but there's a lot of room for improvement.
