@apujanata, I'd expect 50 in the first half of the year and another 50 for christmas. Yes, they still have a lot of loss, and of course the tendency to cover losses is to sell high, but this could lead to being burried, while more loss now could lead to assured profitability in the years to come. I don't think that after 2007 they can afford another year of bad rep. If they allow MS to even just match them closely for another year they're in trouble, especially now that MS has sorted out it's hardware problems. While another cut will obviously not lead to profitability I suspect Sony is on it's way to matching production/sales even with that in the following year and with that increased audience they can pretty much guarantee their console doing great, especially combined with bluray motivated sales.
What I'm wondering though is: will sony push for capturing US being unfair again towards it's big EU support, or will it go equally, or even supportive towards EU strenghtening there and hoping for things to slowly move over. One thing I can tell you though is this: I live in eastern EU and constantly go to shops in different towns and I see MS showing a very poor distribution channel: in most big shops while I can find playstations xboxes are either missing ore are only present in some extremely expensive variant. To somebody who doesn't know the backgroudn ps3 is actually cheaper here even without considering xbox accessories. Couple that with the fact that in several malls in gaming sections I see only 3 testing areas: ps3/wii/ps2, it's as if xbox doesn't even exist. Couple that with Sony shops focusing on their HD tvs showing off bluray through ps3 and around here it seems to me that unless MS seriously commits to EU *very* soon things are kinda decided here. Yesterday I asked a salesman in one of these big shops about ps3 and to my shock, even though he hardly knew what they were, he was talking with extreme surprise how they constantly bring in ps3s every week and they sell amazingly, complaining how even the day I asked others wanted to buy one and they couldn't provide them. I was very shocked as I thought this would be a poorly selling expensive product... This should be even more intense after prices go lower. In contrast to the shockingly good supply and even some advertisments of Sony products it's a tough job finding a shop with Xbox360, and it's only yesterday that I foudn the first one carrying the arcade pack.
