A few thoughts on the actual numbers: -The PS2 continues to outsell the PS3 and 360. Since the Wii is still dominating sales, they're obviously not competing...so it suggests that consumers don't care about HD gaming at this point and the PS2 is quite likely cannibalizing PS3/360 sales. The continued success of the PS2 helps Sony's bottom line, but it's really hurting the PS3.
-DMC4 provides an excellent lesson in not assuming that worldwide-shipped numbers can be translated into US sales. -COD4 on the 360...wow. What more can be said? -Casual Wii games continue to have long legs. Unless there's some sort of catatrophic technical issue, there is NO good reason why Rock Band isn't out on that system. -Lost Odyssey performed quite well for being a JRPG on the 360. Impressive. -The NR games look like a list of impressive Nintendo-system titles that are just too niche...
