Can someone tell me why GTA is going to shift loads of 360s and not PS3s? You really think a couple of extra missions will sway that many people? That's all MS can / will ever do. Make up these stupid deals and buy IP rights. I think loyalty to Sony is pretty strong GTA-wise. Sony brought us 3D-GTA not MS. For me, it's just where it belongs. Plus not paying to play online is a nice bonus :)
I think Blu-Ray really does matter. How many 50GB games will you download to your Xbox? Or should that be, how many external add on HDs will you buy? Online distribution is fine for a collection of small / retro games but not for the immediate future of gaming. MS camp says we don't need Blu-Ray games or movies. I say you bloody well do!
Tying up your connection downloading a 50GB ISO sounds fun. Chances are you won't be playing online then. I know some people who have ISP caps so tight you couldn't even download one Blu-Ray game / movie in any given month. You'd have to buy more transfer credit. So those people have to upgrade their ISP account because MS don't want to pay Blu-Ray royalties? Forcing 360 owners to DL huge games and films.
I haven't even mentioned we are material creatures. Very few people prefer virtual over physical. That will take a while to change. People like "Stuff" they can hold or display. Fact.
Discs are not going to disappear any time soon. It will be a long, long transition that will depend heavily on storage, connections and attitudes. So yes, I think Sony will profit well from MS stupidity.
Funny how no-one really mentioned Gran Tourismo. Didn't that game series sell a lot of PS2s? Won't it sell a lot of PS3s? Just think it's odd how people skip over it... be interested to see some figures on that.
