@apujanata, I am thinking that there is a significant possibility that Nintendo will announce a new color of Wii at the upcoming E3 or Tokyo Game Show. It will be a perfect time to introduce a new color (probably black) as it could just be the new manufacturing capacity that initially is the new color - instead of having to convert already existing assembly lines to new colors.
It will help to boost sales in Europe and Japan (we know how Japan likes their new, different colors) and help maintain demand in the U.S. into 2009.
We have already started seeing rumors of the new colors through the changing of existing methods of cataloging Wii consoles at retail as some have begun calling it the Wii White - in expectation or knowing of new colors coming soon down the line.
Nintendo is not one to wait until its console's sales are very close to a competing console's sales. I don't see any price drops coming, but I would not rule out new colors or a special bundle during 2008 in at least one of the major territories.
