I have no problems with you. I don't even know you.
I just think the article is more of an ad than an actual news post. As I said, the "real" news was from the CNBC article you cite. And even that was borderline information.
You linked your own site to get more traffic. That's all. If you didn't, you would have cited the source instead of using Tawkn as a completely unnecessary middle-man.
And I say "your site" not to necessarily imply that you literally own it, but that you have some personal investment in it and have something to gain by generating traffic to it - at the very least, you're listed in the staff page.
This promotion has been ongoing for the past year. It went from $150 to $100 and is now back up to $150 for the holidays, I imagine. The only difference, I suppose, is that this is a Playstation-branded card, rather than a simple Sony Visa. And also, as you say, they're limiting the cash rebate to a PS3 purchase rather than any Sony product (which I don't see how anyone can see that as a good thing, really).
The bit about Sony actively promoting this any more than they have their previous offers, though - I'm not sure where you're getting that. The CNBBC article, which, let's be honest here, is the actual news post, says nothing about it.
Don't get me wrong - it's not a bad deal if you don't mind signing up for a new credit card. But this isn't CAG.
Also, about the referral link, I did take the time to check to see, and I saw the "offerlink=150newps3" in the URL, which was just ambiguous enough to seem like a referral. If not, then I was mistaken.
