I'm sorry but what are you talking about?
The controller shown at TGS has an analog trigger, Triangle/Square/Circle/X buttons, PS button, 'mystery' pad (assumed to be a analog stick replacement (like a mouse pad you can slide your thumb on) or it is a holding spot for a analog stick or Dpad), accel/gyros/rumble and works in conjunction with the EYE to provide 1:1 no lag 3dimisional tracking.
I neither see this as lacking in controls nor do I see it as any less than what was revealed at E3.
