This is what happened when the the old players engaged in market manipulation and vitriol in message boards. If you weren't in their little club you would get shouted down, downvoted, and of course they manipulated stocks, and especially the futures markets with their capital, it all but killed the games for up and comers.
I stuck with it after many fights with just about everyone here.
Once NPD stopped reporting monthly sales they had nothing to game anymore. They all disappeared. That's why we have stocks like Lich King, priced out of reality (because the main owner can enforce a wall at the inflated level).
Even I, with my relatively low amount of capital (compared to the leaders), can easily enforce a two way wall on any stock I wish.
This place needs a round of QE (quantitative easing) and renewed stock as all of the capital is in the hands of non-players and or the top 30.
Maybe KoC should mint some new admins to breathe some life into this place. It was a really cool idea. I've loved this game ever since I learned of it in an arstechnica article a couple of years ago.
