@xaustinx,a very well written post. There certainly is some probability that some news item similar to what happened with Red Steel months ago can happen with a game that sends it into a steep correction, whether up or down.
"Removing stocks and cashing out is essentially starting a trend of betrayal for those of us who have chosen to play the long game in lieu of a quick and hearty return on guaranteed sellers."
I think most of us who are long-term holders or shorters of a stock eventually point out to the rest of the community why a stock is over- or under- valued if the stock becomes inactive to stimulate a correction. However, it appears no one is even commenting on the stocks that are candidates for delisiting.
However, I don't understand how you can suspend trading without cashing out. Then people would be stuck with shares they could never liquidate. Delisting stocks and still allowing them to trade would also be bad as they would become even less active.
I do think the massive number of stocks on the simExchange can get some noobies lost and it's more fun for everyone if all the stocks we trade are very active.
I think it comes down to whether we think its important to maintain the stock for the slight possibility to make a correction some point in the future, or it is more beneficial to clean up the site so that players only trade the stocks that many people are interested in trading. As we can see from the charts on the delisting candidates, no one is interested in trading these anymore.
