I disagree. Many games are made after it's release, and not before. Sure advertising puts a huge amount of their sales, and week 1 sales are super important. For example Crackdown. If Crackdown did not include the Halo 3 multiplayer beta invite, the game still would have done well. But, as a GTA clone and an unknown title and developer, it would need to get out for people to play and judge it. Then it's sales would be based on how much people loved the game. Pretty much everyone expected the game to be a GTA hack, or just a poorly made game because they used the Halo 3 beta to hype it. But, the Halo 3 beta was just used to get the game in people's hand to see how great it really was.
So, we cant focus on games ONLY prior to release. Not to mention some games appear on simExchange a week before release, some months, and I have even some some IPOs appear after a game's release. It just isnt something I think simExchange can keep up with.
