kspraydad, no wait should be necessary if you believe X attach rate is necessary for Y stock to hit Z price. Remember, stocks forecast the future, they do not forecast one point in time.
If you think the PS3 will ever reach an install base large enough to support say 5 million Final Fantasy XIII purchases, then the price you are willing to buy at should be 500 DKP discounted by the risk that these factors don't come together. The only reason you would wait is for more information to emerge so that the risk decreases.
We are not forecasting the number of copies Final Fantasy XIII may sell through 2008, but in the entirety of the future, including any 3 year wait you believe is necessary for the presumed attach rate. All of that should be priced in.
Even if it sells 6 million it will take 3 years at normal attachment rates... Waiting 3 years for a 20% rate of return is one option for traders...others will take their 10% from yesterday and move on.
Also...I think there is still some concern about multi platform helping to keep/drive it down and scaring the longs.
A bit ridiculous, I have like 800k in FFXIII and now everyone is selling all their shares less than a day since they got them. All my gains are depleting. I won't be selling for a long time I guess.
Lol everyone who got it yesterday is selling? You honestly dont think this will sell 5mil? Ok, thanks for letting me buy more at cheaper prices and more profit!
Bought 535 shares of this. I'm not going to take a huge risk on it but a big enough one that I can make a small decent profit. I think if you can afford it you should to, looking at the graphics and the hype of it, i'm game.
Hiromichi Tanaka: "Up to PlayStation 2, all consoles had roughly the same concept of how to enjoy the gaming experience. With next-gen, each has different features and is targeted at a different audience.
So, we have to make different titles for different platforms, depending on what sort of game we want to make and what the users will be expecting; we can choose which platform we want to go for. This is completely different from the old games industry."
Hiromichi Tanaka is the senior vice president of software development at Square Enix.
It seems very likely now that Final Fantasy XIII (the game) and Final Fantasy Versus XIII will remain PS3 exclusives and entirely new games will be developed for other platforms.
I've already submitted this in the article section, so you don't you may want to only bid for one or the other. I was just sharing my opinion on what this article means for Final Fantasy XIII's exclusivity.
Pilias_Simber, Just a quick suggestion. Please stop posting tons of articles without having first checked whether or not they have previously been posted. There is no sense submitting an article that was already submitted hours prior. I have also seen some articles posted that have very little relevance to the subject matter of this website. Please try to be a little more selective in the future, understanding that if other users want to use the articles presented for research purposes, they should be on topic so as not to waste others times. I'm not meaning to come off harsh, just lending some input.
Well, its been confirmed now, either there will be additional titles on other consoles that bear the FFXIII name, or Square Enix will be releasing the same game on multiple consoles.
