Day 1: UP 30% Day 2: Up 6% Day 3: (As of now) Down 12.49%
At a projection of 9.5M this stock is genuinely way undervalued based on the original selling 9.5M with half of that in Korea where it is practically a national sport/obsession with professional leagues. IMO the people selling at 1000 are crazy
You also don't need to sell ALL your shares at once. You can cash out on some and try to diversify up the selection of stocks you have rather than have all your eggs in one basket.
While this is a "competition" (and I use the term lightly if my quotes did not indicate such), you may do better if you do not have rankings in mind and instead focus on positive growth for yourself.
Sphet: As I've mentioned before, the idea is prediction. If you think that the current price is way too high and that the game will actually sell less, sell off everything and short it some, hoping that the figures will prove you right. If you think that the actual sales will be higher, turn on "advanced mode" if you haven't and set a standing order to trade the stock when it reaches the level you believe it will actually sell at, keeping in mind that 100DKP means 10k units sold.
Or just hang on to it for a while and see what happens with the release and game news.
Well I don't know if this is specific to Starcraft II but something has gone wrong with selling and buying stock. Selling was doubling the quantity put in and when buying it back it put my cash majorly in the negative. When all I wanted to do was sell 200 of the 400 I had and rebuy at a lower price it has gone haywire. Any one else had similar problems?
Looks like many are cashing out, that's okay. This stock may go down slightly for a short period, but it will be back up and higher days-2 weeks later. Seen it happen many times now with similar stocks.
Think of it in terms of return on investment, or ROI.
Let's say you have 100,000 DKP invested in this stock. Should you sell? It depends. Let's say you have a choice of keeping your 100k in this stock or investing it in Game X. You should choose which stock you think will increase in value the fastest. If you believe (over the next day, week, whatever time frame you play on) that this stock will make you another 10,000 DKP but the stock of Game X will make you 15,000 DKP, you should invest in Game X. If you really want to hold Starcraft 2 after that, take your 115,000 and re-invest it there.
The focus should be on where you think your money can be the most productive.
I am new to this and understand the basic premise of 'buy low / sell high'. Unfortunately, I am not clear on when it makes sense to sell shares in something like this stock. I bought some at the IPO, and the growth is amazing, but should I hold out. How are share values managed over the long term - for other titles that have been on the market for a few weeks/months, is there a final tally that might bump the price up later? Its unclear to me if it makes sense to buy apparently undervalued stocks after the trading frenzy of the first few weeks.
