According to VGCharts, this game has already sold 1,360K world-wide, 220K more than we are currently predicting. What's more, this game is still sell, nearly eight months after its release.
In North America, this game sold just over 5K last week, according to VGCharts. It's 81st. (Also, note that the total on the 514K and the total on the VGCharts game page (the first link) is 520K. A very small difference, probably caused by rounding. This shows that the totals on the game page represent sales up until this point, NOT lifetime sales.) The game was released in North America October 31, 2006. Two months ago, this game sold 5.4K per week, only around 200 units more than it is now. It's 71st. This shows that sales are dropping very slowly.
In Australia, this is the second highest selling PSP game this week, only behind Ratchet and Clank: SM which was release just over a month ago. This game was released in Australia November 10, 2006.
In the UK, combine sales of this game and the PS2 version of this game is 21st on the all platforms software chart this week. This game is the 9th highest selling budget PSP title this week. This game was released in the UK November 10, 2006.
This game sold most in PAL countries so it is likely still selling in other European coutries, too.
This game is probably selling >10K per week world-wide, nearly eight months after its release. If we assume this game sells at on average 8.5K every week up until the release of GTA IV (which is currently mid-October, but may be pushed back), this game will sell another 100K, bringing its total sales up to 1,460K. I'm not completely sure how the GTA IV release will affect sales of this game, but it could very well boost sales thanks to exposure of the GTA name. I'm not entirely sure, though.
This stock should be at 146DKP minimum. Given how well this is selling so long after its release, a more accurate price would probably be higher than this. This stock is undervalued.
Kspraydad, I believe this title might still be overvalued but only by a small margin if at all. I think you are discounting the international sales of this title too much. According to VGchartz the previous title GTA: Liberty City Stories (PSP) has shipped out many more copies internationally compared to the US.
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (PSP) 1.41 million US 2.08 million Other
wow gta: lcs last week sold 5320 copies compared gta:vcs with 5363 so it only outsold libert citsy by 43 copies nto to mention that libert city is about one year older. wow vice city stoires is a big let down
As of April 22 VG is showing weekly sales of 6129 and total sales of 477, 209 ... the price drop does not seem to have bumped sales as this would be about 24k per month and Feb saw sales of about 50k at a higher price!
The current projection would be for this game to be the second all time best seller but at 6k per week sales you'd need 3 more years of sales at current levels...
Still say this is way overpriced and continue to hold and add to my short position.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories Take 2 6,129 477,209
personally this game is way overvalued. vcs is like a watered down verison of lcs and is no way near as much fun. also many ppl. who have lcs are casual gamers meaning they dont intend to beat the game just fool around. and since many of them make up the bulk of people buying lcs its unlikely vcs will be sold since few competitive gamers actually have finished lcs so personally this stock is overvalued it might sell 750,000 copies in the u.s. at most but not much more than that.
