@sam300, It is timed exclusivity (search back) thus I doubt very much a bundle...as well, bundles are usually with 1st and 2nd party developers not 3rd. Unless SONY buys FR it has no chance of happening. jmho.
Last but not least, I hear Haze is heavily advertised and was heavily hyped. the fact that I heard of it, is what caused me to buy it in the airport without reading any reviews.
It may also be bunlded with PS3 with potential for discounts as after all it is an exclusive title and one of the very few PS3 titles that support SPLIT SCREEN multiplayer network play.
I think it will sell more than 600K. Here is why. 1- It is not that good, but neither is it that bad. 2- I bought the game before I read any reviews.
FIrst impression: graphics are good. Apon closer inspection: textures are severely weak, and sometimes nearly as bad as PS2 titles.
Gameplay: quite decent. I got addicted for first several hours. I love the nectar thing that makes spotting and aiming at enemies a real ease.
Bottom line, it is not as bad as the reviews say as the game play is good. Not amazing but good. I would say if The Club got a 70 average, Haze deserves more. I love the multipplayer Co-OP and the fact that a friend could join for split screen fun right in the middle of a single player game (no need to restart!!!!!)
That is a feature that is even missing in Halo.
Frame rate is really fast (I mean NO SLOW DOWN AT ALL IN MULTIPLAYER)
and all in all this makes for a 7.5/10 game which puts it in a gameplay spot of just above Unreal Tournament 3!
I don't have real numbers on Timeshift but I think we can generally agree that it isn't over 20dkp (I just looked through the UK charts and it never was higher than 18th on the PS3, was on the top 25 chart for 8 weeks and many weeks was being outsold by year old games such as Lair and Ridge Racer!....
Haze may benefit from a larger PS3 install base and some better marketing but from my own experience dealing in forums and blogs it seems many people were on the fence as a take it or leave it game and poor reviews will push them to leave it. With many new PS3 owners just having bought GTA...there needs to be a strong reason to layout more cash on this versus buying or continuing to play CoD4 imo. Call of Duty is going to satiate shooter needs until SOCOM comes along for PS3 owners imo.
The simExchange has Timeshit at around 15.62DKP. It cashed out Metacritic wise at 73 DKP, which looks to be higher than what Haze will end at. If Timeshift is used as an indicator, this stock is current overvalued.
Timeshift was the last FPS/Shooter for PS3 that I recall trying to introduce a new play mechanic ... it got a 76 from IGN. We know how Timeshift worked out.
Think this will sell due to the power of marketing?
Haze does not live up to the company's reputation thanks to a horrible plot, weak gameplay mechanics and visuals that are truly underwhelming. While playing with friends is enjoyable, not even those are enough to bring this lackluster title around.
