GoNintendo is reporting that EDGE Magazine believes that Nintendo could be bringing a version of its Virtual Console service to the Nintendo DS! This would involve flash cards being released for the DS and that downloads would include Game Boy and Game Boy Colour games. Other people speculate that this could also mean a return of Game Gear games.
It is thought that such a service could be run through the Wii, with the games then sent to the DS.
Of course, it's entirely RUMOUR and speculation right now, but this could be a very cool and popular service (and is really a natural step for Nintendo).
Nintendo just released their Q1 (April-June) financial stuff... They announced sales of 6.98 million DS systems in that quarter alone, bringing total sales to 47.27 million, and raised their expectations for full year sales from 22 million to 26 million, which would put lifetime sales at 66.29 million through next March.
I went through the past NPD numbers that we have, trying to figure out some weekly trends, and get a good feel for where these futures should be. Based on my math, the DS was selling 101.6K a week in March, 117.75K a week in April, 105.75K a week in May, and 112.4K a week in June. It's possible there will be another slight dip in July.
If you expect even month-to-month for the DS, then this should be valued at or around 44.96 DKP. If you think it will sell better or worse then last month, act accordingly from that number.
If you expect averaged performance for the DS, based on previous trends, then your weekly sales will be in the neighborhood of 109.4K, and you should be looking for 43.76 DKP.
Hopefully these comments will help traders' perspectives on these futures.
I did the EXACT same thing earlier today with Wii stock. I sold 10700 shares at 14 DKP, instead of vice versa. It brought Wii stock down about 2000 points, or 20%, before I ran out of margin, and left me with a -1.4M DKP position. I commented to whoever I talked to via e-mail that it would have been funnier if I had had the margin to sell the stock all the way down.
I didn't think I would see someone else ACTUALLY sell a stock all the way down just 9 or 10 hours later, let alone that I'd be a massive beneficiary of it.
I got a one-time DKP gift to cover my error. It will be interesting to see what they do this time. A 20% drop costing me 100,000 at most is different from a 90% drop costing you basically your whole 10,000,000.

Maybe because Nintendo seems to make the generation longer from now on?
