According to this pdf from SE, total LTD sales of CC:FFVII for PSP sit at 2.1 Million (page 8)....seems we may have undertracked this (and I was long :( )
@apujanata, Oops. I was looking at wrong stock : FFCC: RoF, instead of CC:FF7 when making my comment. Please ignore my previous comment, since it was done by referencing the wrong stock.
@Just_Ben, Just an idea. Instead of fighting them at 7.xx price point, why don't you let them go to 9.xx or even 10.xx, before driving down the price again ? You (and me) will get more profit that way.
We will get short term (1-2 weeks) loss, but long term (until March NPD cash out) profit
You know it had near 4 weeks in October. This one has 2! Its March, not November AND there already was 2 big PSP games before (Papaton, God of War). I am one of those keeping the future at the current price, we will see I guess. tomorrow you most likely will make a kill because VGC has a high number, but I have VERY strong feelings about this one ;)
One possible explanation : Futures is driven by Top 25 members (which mean probably close to actual #), while GLS is driven by fans of SE (which mean probably bloated / overpriced #).
I think a lot of Top 25 decided to stay away from GLS, and focus on Futures. Personally, I stay away from this stock, since I couldn't have confidence in my estimate on this stock (pro and con are almost the same).
@apujanata, it was nearly 100k. From the October NPD. WipEout is a much weaker brand than FF undoubtedly, I don't really see it as a big IP so I'm not sure I'd use it as an indication of sales for this.
FFVII fans have been waiting very long for this and since it was announced such a long time ago that S-E has had enough time to build up much more anticipation than this.
I'm not sure if it'll do 200k but I do think it'll do a fair bit higher than 100k even in the time it'll be on the market in March, yet the stock keeps going down.
It's confusing and curious at the same time to me though since even though this stock keeps going down the GLS stock keeps going up. FF games aren't exactly known for having legs on PlayStation systems.
@Twitch, it's definitely curious though, why do people think this will barely outdo the PS1 port of FFT in the first month? The date? GoW? FF sales are usually pretty front-loaded, so I'm curious as to why this went down so much.
It is interesting that the March NPD Future has plummeted but there has been on change in the GLS stock. This would indicate that people think the loss of US sales will be made up elsewhere--or people forgot to short the GLS, too. I am thinking the latter.
