@vGInfidel, Well, seems that someone (not me) did see an opportunity on COD5, and bought up your positions. Enjoy shorting them as much as you can. I will stick with my 100 DKP or below position.
Just a friendly reminder to you : Zukaus lost some money shorting COD4 (GLS, not future). Of course, it doesn't mean that you will also lose money on COD5 future, but the potential is there. The higher you short them, the less loss risk you get.
Indeed it was me on the GoW2 Dec future, i wanted to take up a fairly large position fairly quickly but there was just no resistance. I was hoping that with it dropping 30% in one day someone would see an 'oppurtunity' and bite it back up so that i could increase it but that hasn't happened unfortunately.
I don't think CoD5 will have such large legs as CoD4 hence my short. What i feel happened with CoD4 was that as it was such a great game it picked up alot of hype with people buying it and telling their friends etc. hence the high sales coming into Xmas. With CoD5 i dont think there will be that reception as whilst it's an Ok game, i don't think it comes close to matching CoD4 and certainly not in the way of taking the genre to next level like CoD4 did. Hence it won't have the same amazing legs like CoD4 did as there isn't the buzz around it.
For example on my friends list on XBL of about 50 people by Xmas last year I'd guess at least 40 but most probably all had brought CoD4. This year there is no more than 15 with the game, and probably a few less than that. Very similar situation with Gears 2. Obviously this doesn't relate to US data as me and my friends are mainly in UK but i think it shows the trend.
@vGInfidel, You have your regrets, and I have mine : I am not quite happy with buying much above the 100 DKP price point (I once bought up to 110 DKP), which is why I didn't take up your short order at 105 and 110.
Are you the one driving down the price of GoW2 Dec ? Did you notice that there was no resistance on that one from me ?
The rumours mill said that GoW2 had no legs, while COD5 have COD4 like legs :D. I do hope those rumours are right, since I could get nice profit IF COD5 X360 is 1.47 Million, like COD4 X360.
Personally, I think COD5 are going to be slightly below COD4, hence I hesitate to buy things above 100 DKP.
There's nothing really, i just saw one of your posts had been made just before i started selling so i presumed you were online and when there was alot of DKP coming back at me when i started selling and i noticed you were long on this one i wanted to confirm my feeling that it was you.
I don't think i am quite happy with selling too much at below the 100dkp price point hence my sale orders at 105 and 110 dkp, it's taking extra unneccessary risk, you're welcome to come up to my price point ;)
Ive only got 20k of this stock shorted, which i suppose in a day is quite alot but not in the overall sense of things. I shall wait and see if this stock comes up again for me to increase my short.
Is it possible to reverse a mistaken transaction ? I thought I was buying it at 1 Million, and only after clicking on the buy button I realized that it is a 10 Million transaction.
I think I have to agree with you November the 11th is probably not the best date. I have not really followed World at War but if any game was going to go for a release on that date then a game like Brothers in Arms woudl be my choice as it tends to focus more on the suffering and tries to retell the horror but even that is just a shooter when all is said and done.
Just a general observation but isn't it a 'little' distasteful to launch a war game on Remembrance Day? Would be nice to see a portion of first day profits go to War Veterans or something.
