Casey Hudson has been a game developer at BioWare for over 8 years, contributing to titles ranging from the Baldur's Gate series through to his current project, Mass Effect. After graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Alberta, Casey joined BioWare in 1998 as a technical artist on the PC role-playing game Neverwinter Nights...
"Yesterday I put out a call for any and all questions you might have about Mass Effect. I didn't expect much of a response, just some random point of clarification and the such. Instead, the comments were flooded with questions and I received quite a few emails as well. I did my best to answer questions on every topic that was asked, so hit the jump for the full (and fairly long) FAQ."
Yesterday we told about Singapore's ban on Bioware's upcoming Xbox 360 game Mass Effect due to a scene which contains "lesbian intimacy," but now it looks like the Board of Film Censors has changed their minds, giving Singaporean gamers what they really want.
"We received our Limited Collector's Edition review copy of Mass Effect. The tin case is actually quite nice, with sharp, clean artwork. And we've decided that the 36-page Galactic Codex: Essentials is a must-read (translation: foreplay) before we start gaming later, but its bullet pointed format makes it less intimidating than a straight geek novel or something." This looks really cool.
We've been rabidly anticipating Mass Effect for such a long time now, it's a relief to learn that, according to Game Informer at least, we haven't been wasting our energy. In their forthcoming November issue, the magazine awarded the game a 9.75, just a quarter-point shy of its highest honor.
