BioWare (accidentally?) announced today the title of the second volume in the Mass Effect series of novels, confirming also that there will be a sequel to the Xbox 360 exclusive.
Del-Rey Books and author Drew Karpyshyn have announced the title of the second volume in the Mass Effect series of novels: Mass Effect: Ascension. Set between the first and second game, the novel will arrive in Summer 2008.
@Stitch, There where games last gen that had x-box only on the box but came out on other systems.(the only one I can think of off the top of my head is king of fighter Re-bout, but there where more.)
@sagexsdx, didn't Microsoft lock up the rights to publishing this title? Or at least to make it Xbox 360 only? The box of the game says "Only on Xbox 360." The comments by Zeschuk seem to imply they have the option to port it to other platforms.
During the latest edition of Bonus Round, notorious analyst Michael Pachter has said that BioWare games have to go multiplatform if EA is to ever recoup some of the £300 million spent buying the Canadian outfit.
@apujanata, Don't worry about it, man. Nuance gets lost in the Internet. You SHOULD be trying to influence the market, though. If you feel something is overpriced, say it, especially if it's backed by logic. Hell, even if it's not, sometimes it works.
The way I read your post "you'll have to find new and creative ways to repeat the same logic many many times" is that you don't agree with my double post, and feel that I am trying to influence the market. After reading your latest comment, and re-reading your previous post, it seems that I read too much into your previous post.
It seems to me the main point is that this article and the figures contained therein are all but worthless, as they don't qualify their figures by stipulating shipped/sold or the region/regions they are referring to. This is typical hype marketing, and is used as a psychological "everyone else is buying it, so you should too" come on. And while the statistics may be "technically" based upon factual data, the scope of the data itself is intentionally kept fuzzy. They want you to feel the impact of the BIG NUMBERS, plain and simple. So, I took a beating on my short yesterday thanks to this hype BS, but I, alongside a host of other quality traders, will be vindicated when the data is released and we get cashed out!! Everyone can pontificate, reason, and rant... but at the end of the day the results are the only true measure of the validity of your stance!
