Interesting, Nintendo are traditionally a very conservative company so I would have thought they might have been reviewing their recent upping of production (to 2.4m per month) in light of the recession and fairly middling Japan sales.
Instead they're increasing it. Maybe they'll have something going on in 3-4 months.
Digitimes is reporting that Nintendo has placed extra orders with InvenSense, its component supplier, in preparation for a jump in Wii sales.
Nintendo also asked for an increase in their gyroscope shipments in preparation for the release of the Wii Motion Plus controller add-on, Digitimes reports. Nintendo pre-paid for part of the order as they prepare for strong growth, according to Digitimes sources.
Nintendo Co Ltd will team up with ad agency Dentsu Inc to launch a video distribution service on the Wii console, in a move to establish a new revenue stream, the Nikkei business daily said.
The two firms plan to offer cartoons and other entertainment programmes created for the new service.
Nintendo and Dentsu will start the new service early next year in Japan, followed by overseas launches later in the year, the paper said.
I was looking at the chart for this stock. It is following a very nice pattern. Sales should be strong. Would be wrong to project to linger around 1600? Wii would need some major sales boost or HYPE to settle around 1700!
Based on the fact that SSBB is higher than SMG (500K higher if we assume that the estimated # are close to the actual #), and that both SSBB and SMG are Platinum (300K+) in UK, I believe that simEx overpredict SMG, since SMG GLS (1078 DKP) is higher than SSBB (995).

@andip, Found this article, that mentioned that : "We saw very strong response to the additional inventory we offered this morning and sold through tens of thousands of Nintendo Wiis by early Monday afternoon," said Wal-Mart spokesperson Ravi Jariwala in a statement.
Though the company didn't specify exactly how many it sold, Wal-Mart says it still has supply in stock, and that it plans to keep restocking the console throughout the holiday season.
Nintendo's Wii has emerged as one of the few hot products this holiday season, and Wal-Mart will offer "tens of thousands" of the hard-to-get video game consoles on its Web site starting on Monday.
Walmart.com said it will offer the Nintendo Wii console for $249.24, and a "value bundle," which includes the console and other items like an extra set of controllers, for $329, while supplies last.
