Konami has announced that MGS: Guns Of The Patriots has sold a million copies in Europe since its release on June 12th – and that it has shipped many more SKUs to its retail partners.
The firm also confirmed that 25,000 copies of the the Limited Edition were made available across Europe, but “were snapped up almost immediately.”
Konami has announced plans to make the online multiplayer game based on MGS available as its own, stand-alone product in Japan. The disc will set buyers back $17 and be content-identical to the client that comes on MGS4's Blu-ray disc. MGO is set to receieve a number of gameplay and content updates in the coming months, including new characters, items, and maps.
There was supposed to be an EU bundle IIRC. If there was a bundle out last week then ChartTrack most certainly counted them as they have always counted bundles.
With 1.3 Million first day # from VGC, what kind of # should be this stock valued at ? Anyone kind enough to share his analysis ? Let us all assume that VGC data is accurate (since it seem some member didn't think VGC data is accurate).
@apujanata, Is there an MGS bundle in UK ? If yes, did Chart-Track counted them in their "only 7% increase", or are they just counting normal (non-bundled) PS3 ?
If there is a bundle, and that bundle are not included in the calculation, I am not surprised with it (7% increase).
A bit surprising, but then again not totally either. I really do not see much of anything that could help give it any other HW bump for the rest of the year either. This was the big gun of 08. Probably after first week or two in Japan and the US it's going to be back to the norm as well
Despite going straight in at number one in the software charts and being the biggest PlayStation 3-exclusive release so far, Metal Gear Solid 4 has failed to prove a major driver of hardware in the UK, with Chart-Track revealing a "minimal" spike of seven percent over its opening weekend.
