Pachter reckons the 360 SKU has sold 7m. That's a lot higher than I thought. Last I heard from Take 2 was 9.5m? I thought we'd have heard when it got to 10m. That's a massive differential between this and the PS3 version on that basis.
See the thread I posted on the PS3 sku. Strauss Zelnick says GTA:IV has a tie ratio of 28pc on the 360 based on NPD data through October. Using that with the hardware LTD gives you 3.25m LTD for the 360 version in the US
For the PS3 version I extrapolated from there to the EU as well. I'm not sure it's as easy to do for the 360 because Europe's a funny market for them, they've got a big market in the UK and on the continent we don't know who's buying it, the super hardcore EU gamers or what. Anyhow, for kicks you can get another 1.96m to add on if you assume a 7m userbase and the same tie ratio bringing the total LTD seeing as Japan is neglible to approx 5.2m
Adding both SKU's together gives you 9.25m or so. Not far off the sort of figures we got out of Take 2.
I think the 360 SKU will have longer legs and get decent boosts from the DLC. Enough to get 9m as TSE currently predicts? I don't know but I don't have a position in this. (I do in the PS3 SKU)
Gamestop certainly have a habit of releasing information before it's public knowledge; call it an advertising blooper or their "don't give a shit" attitude, but it seems like they may have done it again ... this time with the upcoming GTA IV DLC.
They've recently advertised the GTA IV DLC on their site with a price of $19.99 and although the content won't be sold in disc form, they'll be handing out codes with a double sided poster nonetheless
@Joe80, Houser: "The story is not directly impacted by decisions you took in the main game," he says. But "tons of details and mysteries from the main story get explained, so it will add a lot of color to the main story."
The new game will let you download more sandbox time. "We feel like we've only scratched the surface in terms of the depth and detail in" GTA IV's mythical Liberty City, says Houser.
GamePro Media features editor Dave Rudden hopes the episode costs $15 or less, but Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter expects a $20 price and says Rockstar could sell 2 million to 3 million downloads. "I see episodic content as a natural progression of the quality of downloadable content."
This new episode, "Lost and Damned", is available Feb. 17 exclusively for the Xbox 360 version (no price yet). It stars Johnny Klebitz, a member of Liberty City biker gang The Lost. Houser "the story will show you a different side of Liberty City."
apujanata has said pretty much everything there is to be said, take the advice and learn from it, if you don't and continue in the same vein you will not win many friends around here.
Also dont post it CAPS please, it isn't nice to read. Also proper spelling and grammar goes a long way, if you want people to take time to respond to your post and help you out the least you can do is take the time to proof-read your comments before posting.
Also, generally each forum has its own form of etiquette, and this one is no different, please take the time to understand it before posting in such large volumes.
@apujanata, Also, please stop asking for each and every article of yours that have downbid.
It all boil down to the following reasons : - some of them are double post article. Please search to ensure that the news you wanted to post was not posted before. - some of them are NOT newsworthy article. Normally this will only result in your article didn't get any upbid, but since you are spamming simEx with too many article, you get the negative backlash with downbid on this kind of article. - your spamming cause some article that shouldn't get downbid to get downbid, to warn you that spamming news is not encouraged.
Anyone else want to give opinion, please feel free to do so.

Either way, that's a big SKU split for the 360 if Pachter is right with 7m
