Violent people, they are.
Being number one outside of Japan usually doesn't translate to being number one in Japan, but for one consistent exception: Grand Theft Auto. Part IV was the best selling game in Japan this week, with combined sales for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions topping the 160,000 mark.
Rockstar's Dan Houser 'not sure' it will come this year.
Grand Theft Auto IV's Xbox 360 exclusive downloadable content looks to be a little further along the horizon, with Rockstar executive Dan Houser recently stating he's 'not sure' whether it will be released this year.
Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure they can. I have heard that it is within the realm of possibility. Its funny that Rockstar are acting like this, they ripped off MS for 50 million (imo) because MS probably have a clause in the contract to release this year. I don't know why they would risk that.
Maybe they are waiting for next year, since this year people will undoubtedly spend any money on games rather than the DLC. Also at this point i don't believe that most people care about GTA4 at all. Also the DLC will have to substantial in size, and many people who have 20 GB won't be able to stomach all of it.
@OuterHaven, If the DLC is not released in 2008, will there be a class action (broken promise) for the X360 version ?
I believe there are some gamer who bought the X360 version, instead of the PS3 version, because they were promised DLC in 2008. Can those gamers file a class action suit against Microsoft and Rockstar ?
Rockstar "not sure" when GTAIV content is comingArstechnica writes: Before Grand Theft Auto IV's release, Microsoft paid $50 million to secure the exclusive rights to a large batch of downloadable content. To this day, no information about that content has been divulged, except for a tentative release date of fall 2008. Even that single piece of information appears to be moot now, as Rockstar has commented that it is "not sure" when the content will go live.
