@vGInfidel, The latest update on ELSPA (April 26) showed that the PS3 version and the X360 version reached 100K (Silver) sales at the the same month. By March, no version showed up in the Silver list.
Therefore, it is safe to assume that PS3 and X360 version are selling close to 1:1 in UK, as you predicted. If this happen throughout Europe, I can them selling 200 - 250K each, as of now.
In 3 months, they reached 200 - 250K in Europe. I think they will max out at 400 - 500K, max (more probably 300 - 380K).
We've had a mountain of requests for this one!
Today, we're delighted to announce Burnout Paradise custom soundtracks will be coming to the Playstation 3 as part of our Cagney software update. If you want to play your own music while in Paradise City, it's now possible via Easydrive without interrupting the game. This couldn't be simpler...you just hit the Easydrive menu, select Soundtrack and hit Custom.
wow this is now valued at more than the 360 version, something is seriously wrong with that imo. the person bidding this up can waste his money all day long, how can you continue to invest in this and not the 360 version if you really think its going to sell so many more copies than the already announced 1million combined? doesnt make sense to me, but hey what do i know?
well i think that the ratio for Europe is probably much closer to 1:1, here in England im fairly certain the 360 version outsold the ps3 one by a small amount at least in the first couple of weeks and i know elsewhere its a close run contest.
the market for racing games is stronger over here in Europe so lets assume that the game has sold half the million copies here and half the million in america. that puts the ps3 on 250k in europe and if we use a 2:1 ratio for america it gives it about 170k or so putting it at a total of around about 420k.
i still think that my valuation of 60-70dkp is realistic but i might be slightly overvaluing the 360 version, i set a price point of 90dkp and that on second thought may be slightly too high and should come down to the 80-90dkp range depending on the legs of the game. im basing my figures on the game selling another 50% or so and reaching around 1.5million combined.
@vGInfidel, Isn't PS3 WW # almost the same (or is it higher ?) as X360 ? Is it possible that US number is 2:1 in favor of X360, while Europe # is 2:1 in favor of PS3 ?
I don't follow up Europe closely, so I am asking questions here, not saying that your analysis is wrong or something like that.
Off topic : splitting your comment into paragraphs will make it easier to read, for me :).
anyone else think that this is still seriously overvalued? i mean Burnout's only sold 1million combined and the 360 version has taken a serious hit down to a more realistic level almost to the price of this. this has yet to see the same fall for some reason, i mean theres no way its going to sell the equivalent of the 360 version given the much smaller ps3 install base. so if we estimate that the 360 version has sold 650k or so that leaves the ps3 at 350k (estimate based on other games trends). so the ps3 has sold in the region of 350k in its first 3months or so since launch. current price suggests its going to treble that, a feat which almost no other game except from Nintendo first party and WoW has achieved i believe (there may be a couple more ive forgotten). this should be around 60-70dkp at an absolute maximum i believe.
Yeah, yeah, Burnout Paradise is the bees knees, the cat's pajamas, the, um, minimalist work of art. But that doesn't mean it's perfect, a fact that developer Criterion both admits and works to correct with a new patch that fixes many game-crashing and/or experience-altering bugs.

So, what kind of breakdown you think happened in Europe ? 55:45 for PS3:X360 ? Or even 60:40 ?
