At Square-Enix’s fiscal meeting they candidly mentioned the White Engine development is moving at a sluggish pace. However, they are not abandoning creating their in house engine. Since the engine is the backbone for Final Fantasy XIII it seems likely that the Playstation 3 game will be further delayed.
In the mythical land of North America, where Final Fantasy sells far better than Dragon Quest, fans of Square Enix's flagship series have been foaming at the mouth for more details on the elusive Final Fantasy XIII, which was originally announced in a teaser trailer at E3 2006. Since then, Squeenix has spoon-fed the masses with merely minuscule morsels of information, which its ravenous fan base has been more than willing to pounce upon, devour, and scour the net in hopes of even more.
According to IGN, producer Shinji Hashimoto, who's just the king of bad news lately, told the Nikkei BP that the Xbox 360 isn't going to see any Final Fantasy games for a long time. No Final Fantasy XIII. No Final Fantasy XIII Versus. Nothing!
