This future is overvalued. Looking at most past Xbox360 'hardcore' games, they have a huge drop off between first month and second month sales, and especially since this will be available nearly the whole month of November, I think most of the sales will occur during that month. I do not think that this game will be helped by Christmas sales because most of the people that would want to play it will have already picked this game up. I think a price of 35DKP seems more realistic, and even that may be to high.
Just look at the large drop off between Bioshock first month and second month sales (490,900 August 2007 vs 150,000 September 2007) and between Madden 08 first month and second month sales (896,600 August 2007 vs 173,000 September 2007). Neither of those games even had the full first month available to them for sales, which means CoD4, which has the whole month of November to sell, should have an even larger drop off.
From all of this 35DKP seems like the max amount this should be for the December 2007 Future.
@pilias_simber, I said CoD4 on PS3 should not hurt 360 sales to a great degree. Obviously PS3 will get some sales 360 could've but its not going to be a significant impact.
And I said CoD2 & CoD3 shows those titles were not hampered by availability on other platforms when comparing their 1st month sales to the Future prediction for CoD4. Yes, they were affected by the other platforms they were released on, but not to a great degree when comparing them to the Future prediction for CoD4.
My statements are based on emphasis to the bolded parts. And CoD4 is in a better position for 360 (3 platforms) in terms of platforms it is also being released on, then CoD2 (1 platform, but it released 1 month earlier) & CoD3 (4 other platforms) were.
@Joe80, How do you know it didn't hurt the 360 sales? How many total units were sold for those games, and how many would have been sold if it was just on the 360?
I really don't know where you're going with your statement.
@pilias_simber, I disagree with the availability of CoD4 on PS3 hurting 360 sales to a great degree. If we look at CoD2 & CoD3 it shows those titles were not hampered by availability on other platforms when comparing their 1s month sales to the Future prediction for CoD4.
CoD2 was released on PC almost a month before it came out on 360. CoD3 was released on Xbox 1, PS2, PS3, & Wii in addition to 360. CoD4 is only releasing on 360, PS3, & PC on the same date.
Another factor to consider though is this game is also coming out on the PS3, which means a certain portion of the potential buyers will purchase this game on the PS3, even if they also own a 360, plus people who might buy a console for this game may purchase a PS3 over the 360 for any number of reasons which would mean fewer 360 sales even if the overall sales of the game do not decrease.

For whoever downbid me, do you disagree with that statement? Look up the release date if you don't believe me.
