@-THE-RAY-, you do have to take into account the fact that there are many top quality FPS games this holiday season over last year. Many Xbox 360 gamers will be happy with just one FPS this holidy and that FPS will likely be Halo 3. I do hear that CoD4 will be a much better game than CoD3 thought.
Although these figuers are coming from vgcharts and are probably 50% wrong its the only site i know.Anyway last year according to vgcharts this game sold 478,027 in 4 weeks. That year they had around 3-4 million xboxs this year there are 9million so Call of Duty sales would be a bit higher than last year even if vgcharts are at the most 50% wrong?if what i said is right wouldnt this future be 80-100dkp?
With the Beta test having officially come to a close, we now begin the wait. The beta was a massive success in showing that CoD4 is not just an alternative to Halo 3, but an actual competitor in the Multiplayer FPS realm and also demonstrating that it runs smoothly, and plays beautifully.
It fits a beautiful middle ground between ultra tactical and Arcade.
In the upcoming holiday buying frenzy, expect CoD4 to be a player in sales. My only concern is that the beta may have been a little too succesful and could serve to deter would be buyers that "got their fill" in the beta.
Major Nelson just updated with word that no bans have been handed down to any Xbox Live users. Additionally, Microsoft tells 1UP, anyone who has found themselves in the Call of Duty 4 beta, whether through regular token-based activation or through a friend's account, will be allowed to remain active in the beta.
As the public beta of the game stirs the hype pot, details are emerging today about the Limited Collector's Editions for Call of Duty 4. Activision announced today that two special editions will be available, one for the Xbox 360, and one for the PC. Both Collector's Editions will include a hardcover book with both concept and final artwork for the game.
@Joe80, I agree with you that the CoD series is very different from the GRAW series, but with the move to modern times I expect CoD4 to have more GRAW elements including the fancy technology and tactics. Don't get me wrong, CoD4 wont be nearly as technical or tactical as GRAW, but it will show similarities.
We told you how fantastic the multiplayer arena of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is already, and now its time to share our single player experience at GC 2007. And what a stupendous experience it was.
@DiesNex, In my experience the CoD series is much more mainstream than GRAW. I own CoD2 & 3 and I've played GRAW demos and the difference between these games is very large. CoD is a throwback to old school FPS with better AI & mission objectives, whereas GRAW is very tactical. I loved CoD2 and 3 was good as well, and while I picked up GRAW I have yet to play it. Not saying its bad just that it is much different.
