Activision announced today that legendary punk rockers the Sex Pistols reunited to re-record their hit 1977 single, "Anarchy in the U.K," for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
Original members John Lydon (Johnny Rotten), Steve Jones, and Paul Cook hit the studio together for the first time in 30 years, hooking up with original producer Chris Thomas to maintain the feel of the recording.
"It was great for Guitar Hero to, in a way, get us back in the studio," said Jones. "I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but it actually turned out great and I think everyone held their own. I like [Guitar Hero] because my friends' kids like it. And I like what kids like."
"Over at Aeropause they've posted what they claim to be the final track list for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. The list contains all 8 tiers complete with boss battles and encores both co-op and solo, as well as an extensive list of bonus songs."
"Following yesterday's ProG interview with Red Octane pres. Kai Huang that the Wii's Guitar Hero III would not have online play, there seems to have been some miscommunication. Red Octane contacted Joystiq to let us know that what Huang meant to say is there would initially be no downloadable content for the Wii. They reaffirmed that there will be online play."
"There will, in fact, be Online gameplay for the Wii when Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock launches in late October," said RedOctane's Jordan Dodge. "However, there will not be Downloadable content available on the Wii at launch. That, we are still working with Nintendo on."
The president and co-founder of RedOctane has confirmed that there will definitely be no online option for the Wii version of Guitar Hero III initially, but there definitely are online modes for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. He did provide mild hope by stating that the team is working with Nintendo to see how they can get some online features in later on for the Wii.

Do we know if this is for all versions, or just the European versions? If it's all versions, that's super cool!
