Word on the tubes is that these videos (one above, one past the break) are for the Xbox 360 version of the game, but they still exhibit some of the changes the franchise has received and showcase two of the new confirmed songs in Weezer's "My Name is Jonas" and Foghat's "Slow Ride." These changes include a revamped HUD, new chain gauge telling you how many notes you hit in a row and a series of lights replacing the old Star Power meter.
Activision has just sent word about first details of the next Guitar Hero game heading to Wii, PS3, PS2 and Xbox 360, each version of the game will feature a unique Gibson controller and it will be wireless. The game will also feature an entire new play list featuring songs from Kiss, Tenacious D and more. The game will also have online multiplayer modes for all versions. Neversoft who are developing this iteration say "Along with exciting content into this version of Guitar Hero that our fans have been asking for, many of the top bands and songs we've tried to get in the past are now on board, and we've definitely got some giant aces in the hole to say the least."
Just in case anyones wondering. Both of the pictures I submitted are not actual guitars for Guitar Hero III but instead what IGN envisions them as, not the official one.
Rock Band is way overpriced , I went to Ebgames just to see the prices and if they lower the prices to get everything for thing it will be more than a Wii. That is crazy I dont even the most hardcare GH/Singstar/ppl that want to drum it out on game will do that .
Well, the whole Rock Band thing has be a bit hesitant on Guitar Hero 3 (though if Rock Band turns out overpriced, that'll be a boost to GH3). I guess I'm more afraid of the franchise being treated like sports games, with a new incremental improvement every year. We'll have to watch how GH2 does being on two platforms, then I'd be able to say more accurately if 5 million over 4 platforms is accurate.
I still maintain the double-vote system should be around, though. There have been times where it would have helped.
This is a perfect case for a double-vote system on submissions. I have absolutely no issue with Guitar Hero 3 being listed (except that I should have done it myself!) but these IPOs are a tad high. I really don't expect the next Guitar Hero to pull in 5 million sales across all platforms, unless they had some massively awesome feature that got everyone to buy it. Especially since, as you noted, Rock Band is coming and it could steal much of the game's thunder on the PS3 and 360 (I'm under the impression that one's not coming to Wii).
