@Bleezy, I think games included in 360 Pro & Elite consoles sold this fall do count as sales in this market, I've been trading under the impression that they are. I saw how Marvel UA skyrocketed when the bundle deal was assessed on the SE.
@Bleezy, Burnout Paradise, MX VS ATV, Midnight Club Los Angeles, Race Driver One, and then next year's NFS, possibly DIRT 2, and whatever else might come up. NFS MW only sold 1.14 million on 360 & NFS Carbon less at 1.08 million, and NFS PS is getting some really bad reviews by many sites/mags. And those games had both less racing game competition and much less competition from other 360 games in general. We've already seen the effect Halo 3 had on PGR 4 which received great review scores. NFS PS has to compete with many AAA games and what should be a solid Burnout & Midnight Club next year.
My point again though is that a casual car racing fan will be MORE than satisfied by Forza and not seek out NFS...that leave NFS to older X buyers or NFS fans...thus leading to current estimates imo. For instance, I got Motorstorm with my PS3...I have very little interest in another racing game at the moment as I am only a casual fan of the genre...
As for bundled games...they do count as sales. See spike in Forza and Marvel since bundle was announced.
@kspraydad, Do games included in the holiday bundles (Forza), count as "Sales" in this market?? Because if not, then hardcore fans i believe will go to NFS due to car customization and graphics. Also i don't think Forza is as serious a game when it's packeged with Marvel:UA, that's kind of insulting i think. Kind of saying Forza is a little kid's game....
EA is also selling a bundle for the CE edition cars, which is weird because there is no CE ver of the game to my knowledge, it looks like they're making this year's NFS CE DLC only. And it still costs $10 extra, but with no hard copy.
Electronic Arts has released four DLC bundles for Need for Speed ProStreet. Note that all of the cars in these four bundles can be unlocked in game, through career progression.
"NFS ProStreet is a disappointing effort in a franchise that has generally been solid. It sort of feels like EA is starting over again, leaving open-world aspects to other games like Burnout Paradise, but is seems like Black Box didn't know what to do with what was left. It could have still been a decent game had the cars driven well, but unfortunately their performance is shoddy. Car lovers will find something to like due to customization options, but NFS has certainly seen better days."
