Why the jump in stock price? This game was released during the holidays and was most likely lost in the crowd, add to that this game is on the PS3, so sales should be low. Also, Project Gotham Racing 4, advertised better than this game, managed to do only 38.3K or 3.83DKP sales in its first month, and that was in October, so it had less games to compete against and it was on a platform with a larger installed base. This game also has several different versions for other consoles it is competing with also. Add to that it is getting poor reviews and it should probably max out at 55DKP.
EA has lost its way with this series. Most Wanted was fun, cop chasing mayhem but last year's poor Carbon proved a backwards step for the franchise - this racer has stalled its engine. It's down to Need For Speed: ProStreet to set the series back on track...
@Alpha, Why are you talking about football and madden? Hell, thats America! Look at this VGC link racers sells in Europe, and this series does very good. On the PS2 there where more copies sold in "Others" than in NA. So why do you think so locally? So sorry, it will bumb in NA on the PS3, I can agree, but only 500 k Units? Again, look how well the series does in Europe. I can't imagine that.
@Just_Ben, I would hardly say both are undervalued...especially the PS3 version considering how PS3 games are selling as of late.
If you have been following these EA franchises, they appear to be down quite substantially y-o-y. NCAA Football 08 and Madden 08 are not selling like previous years, the drop off in sales is very quick after the first month now. Franchises that have been the bread and butter of EA have fallen pretty flat on the PS3.
