EA announce that The Sims 3 will be available in stores from the 20th February 2009. Collector's edition details were also unveiled.
he Sims 3 Collector's Edition will also be in stores on February 20, 2009. The Sims 3 Collector's Edition will include the full game along with additional collectable The Sims merchandise and a bonus in-game Italian-Style Sports Car unavailable elsewhere.
@Jamix012, The current price definitely needs to come down - but, the numbers that I can find reflect the original Sims having about 6.3 million sales and The Sims 2 having about 13 million sales currently - though these numbers could include expansions.
As of this time, I believe that with so little information available about this title at this time, the current price should come down at least a handful of million units.
I do believe that it is fair to estimate an increase in the total number of units sold over The Sims 2.
@Joe80, Gamespot puts the original sims 6.3 million worldwide in its first year and though it may have legs i doubt it sold 10 million after the first year so this would probably put the original LOWER than the number on VGchartz. http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/simslivinlarge/news_2857556.html
