final fantasy XII has already shipped 4.94 million copies. this game has still a lot of potential going for it and it will be intersting to see how it comes out
Final Fantasy XII International will be released August 9 in Japan and will come with a "secret DVD". "There's a new [to Japan] 16:9 widescreen mode and the Zodiac Job System now enables players to create characters that adhere more closely to classic Final Fantasy job systems, like White Mage, Red Mage and Black Mage."
I'm guessing the International version will sell 250,000, probably a little more. I know of a lot of people who didn't like how all your characters could be developed to be nearly exactly the same, so the new job system might be enough encentive for them to purchase the game again (or for the first time).
I think we can assume that the original sold what we were prediction it to sell before international was announced, which was 5.3 million. VGCharts has a different figure, but I don't think they're tracking this game very well and probably haven't updated their world total value for this game in a while. So, that puts total sales at something like 5.55 million, which translates to a stock vaue of 555 DKP.
I'm obviously adding the considering Internation sales as part of Final Fantasy XII's total sales. In my opinion, creating a new stock for International would simply be a waste of time and effort.
The "final mixes" are essentially "international" versions of the Kingdom Hearts series. Take note that "Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+" is still selling in Japan. It sold 6,643 last week, according to VGCharts.
this game is personally a tough call. its sales have slowed down in the u.s. and now you have to look for pal sales but on the other hand its predecessors sold in and around 5 million. well well just have to wait and see but i think a little above 5 million is the mark and this stock is priced correctly.
FFXII has definitely cooled off in the US, but its still #33 according the VGCharts. The game is now at 1,562,750 copies sold. I think US sales are not going to be a major driver in the stock anymore and we have to look at PAL sales.
Following Zukaus' submitted article that FFXII is the top game by far in the UK...the game may have more legs.
"Square’s triple-A title becomes the fastest-selling release in the franchises’ history in the UK, accounting for a huge 53.5 per cent of all full price PS2 sales this week. Crackdown becomes the fourth fastest selling Xbox 360 title behind Gears of War, PES 6 and Call of Duty 3."
This stock has been quite level for awhile now but it is to be expected until we get data for the month of december or janurary for how this game has done. Once we get those numbers I think that this game will do even better than is currently forcasted. I think that the december numbers will be between 700,000-1,000,000 copies sold and the janurary numbers around 200,000 copies sold but only time will tell what these number actually are.
This stock though is a great example of the simexchange at work, the price keeps rising until a number is agreed upon by the community then it stay there until new data is released.
I still think that this games lifetime sales will be around 560k instead of the current 501k.
