So with the classic, new-school, and infinitely customizable character roster at the ready, and with online play fully operational, it's not a stretch to say this might be 2008's best fighting game. Some other hot fighters are on the horizon, but considering how fun Soul Calibur 4 is after a month of nonstop play, I think it'd be hard to top what Namco's accomplished with what is unquestionably their best fighting game to date.
"Advanced orders for Namco Bandai Inc.'s Soul Calibur IV are higher on Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 than Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 based on pre-sale data from Amazon.com.
In the figures, Soul Calibur IV PS3 Premium Edition held the largest share of sales at 52 percent, followed by the standard edition at 20 percent.
Meanwhile, the Soul Calibur IV Xbox 360 standard edition held 18 percent of sales, while the Premium Edition yielded 10 percent of overall sales."
The rumors of 6.5GB install size and 2GB save data for PS3 version have been exaggerated, says the publisher. "Those numbers are not accurate and are significantly overblown," a Namco Bandai rep told Kotaku. Reps did not respond to requests for exact installation sizes, nor did they comment on the hard drive requirements for the Xbox 360 version.
@Tyrantt00, It is not just etiquette, but it also prevent downbid. An article can get downbid severely if the double poster ignore the warning given, especially for "old member".
There is no actual rule regarding duplicate news entries as far as I can tell. I personally feel that delisting the article would be appropriate etiquette out of respect for the original poster, but that's just my opinion.
@Tyrantt00, Interesting that there is 13 upbids. I have double posted before, because I could not find the original. It is interesting that the people upbid him in spite of 1. not knowing that, or 2. not caring. What is the protocol on something like this? Delist the article?
Namco Bandai has revealed the launch date for the latest in the Soulcalibur series, with the fourth installment due to hit the US on July 29. There's still no news of a European release date, though we can expect it some time before the leaves brown. Soulcalibur IV has taken the somewhat remarkable step of introducing Star War's Yoda and Darth Vader to the mix, and looks to capitalize on online play.
