@apujanata, I agree with you apujanata. Even if someone just goes through and downbids your article to 0 right away, you will still end up making money from future positive bids and the person downbidding will lose money due to the positive bids.
@Kentor, Don't give up so easily. Your article currently have 5 upbids, so posting article still gives you good positive result at the end of the day.
It is possible that whoever downbid you : - do it to make you stop posting article, and therefore he will have "no competition", or - have hatred toward shacknews, so he downbid all news coming from shacknews. - just plain crazy / looney
@Kentor, Well, that's the third time I've had a legitimate article voted down to zero for no good reason, so I'm going to stop posting content for the foreseeable future.
@welshbloke, Don't worry about offending me -- I have almost no interest in MAG at this point, and think that throwing 256 people into the fight probably will make not make the game any more interesting than if it had say 32.
you will have to excuse me as I remain sceptical of this offering. One CGI and one still which looks like a COD 4 para jump mod does not get me going neither does the track record of the PS3 in this arena.
What is interesting is that this game looks this good in early playtesting but it needs to be really very very good if it is to succeed. After all Frontlines promised us a 64 player spectical but it was limited and when all was said and done it still fell short.
The first in-game screenshot of the 256-player, PlayStation 3-exclusive MAG has appeared on Sony's PlayStation.Blog, offering an early, albeit low-resolution, look at the shooter MMO.
@lstormy10, Nice, thank you for that information. Similar to problems in the past where special characters would mess up article summaries. I imagine this Wiki problem could be fixed because the article problem was fixed by Kultofcows. + upbid to you.
@Joe80, FYI to people that have similar problems adding info to a wiki summary as you have had:
I have found that if you add text that includes a special character somewhere in the text, the page will not proceed past the "Processing..." stage of updating the wiki summary. Try to go back and look through the text you are adding to see if there is a special character and replace it or delete it. After doing this, I have found that there will be no problems with adding to the wiki summary.
Can someone add this to the Wiki summary. It won't load it when I try to. Thank you.
Supports battles with up to 256 players online. Squad based shooter with character growth.
Unveiled by Andy Beaudoin from Zipper Interactive, MAG — whose trailer looked like "SOCOM set 15 years into the future," according to our eyes on the scene, will immerse players in large online battles of up to 256 players. The trailer featured multiple terrain types, complex tactics, and sounds very much like a SOCOM MMO at this stage.
Character growth will be accomplished through an advancement tree, which allows players to fine tune their players throughout massive campaigns. "MAG will deliver an intense and long lasting shooter experience," said Beaudoin, who also described the game as "a workout even for the PS3 architecture."
