The real star of Hydrophobia isn't female lead Kate, but the water that rapidly floods the environments and influences almost every aspect of gameplay. This isn't about pretty water reflections that merely slow a characters' movement, nor is it about taking games back to that period where every adventure game had to have an underwater level, just because it could.
I'm not sure if it should be traded or not. I do believe that as time goes on, there will be more online exclusive games, not less, and that their popularity will increase. If the SimExchange has legs, then there will be a time when it should cover such titles.
Whether or not Hydrophobia should be the first title is an open question. In my opinion the game looks more like an interactive tech demo than something approaching a quality title. In other words, it doesn't look like anything special so I'm not going to push for it to be traded.
But if it is traded and it is episodic, then we should just cover the first episode. If the numbers of/interest in the first episode show promise, then we could cover the subsequent episodes as separate stocks, much like game expansions.
@chemchok,It would be...thus why I mentioned it as I think it shouldn't be traded. Also....this game is episodic...will we ever get complete sales on the WHOLE series and not just the very first episode?
Agreed. Hopefully Major Nelson will drop some sales info on it. Another method might be teasing out sales numbers from MyGamerCard or a similar site. I think it would be the only online exclusive title that's been traded on this site, right?
@PhilHarrision,BTW...since we can't seem to submit new hardware like we can software...do I get a finders fee for the first article posted about it? :)
