50% bought the bundle? You can't play the game just buying "the game only". If you're referring to the expansion pack, a 50% split is way off. That would be akin to suggesting everybody who bought the game also bought the expansion.
@deftangel, This game is released May 2009, which meant that all sales fall into current FY (Apr 2009 - March 2010).
$125Million / $55 (assume 50% bought the bundle, and 50% bought the game only) = 2.27 Million games shipped so far.
Since this game didn't show up on Jan 2010 NPD Top 10, and Feb 2010 NPD Top 10, it is safe to assume that the legs are not as good as Mario Kart Wii, for example.
With EA Active 2.0 scheduled to launch in Q4 2010, I believe that this stock should go down some more. It should be somewhere below 4 Million, like 3.5 Million maximum and 3 Million minimum.
EA Sports Active has earned $125m during its current fiscal year ending this month said EA Sports boss Peter Moore. "We're great believers in the Wii. When we look at where we've been successful, it's been with specific experiences that are built around that consumer. Sports Active is one of those experiences which is why it's become one of the top 20-selling Wii titles of all time. It's changing the model from a video game positioning to a fitness one,"That's a $200 billion industry"
I don't understand what is happening with this stock. EA confirmed 600k shipped (or sold, they weren't clear) within the first week and a half of sales, and yet this stock has been throttled today by people selling out. You would think that, given the aforementioned announcement, more people would be buying in rather than selling out at this point.
Notes of caution: these are WW figures, and I do not believe that the representative explicitly stated if these were shipment or sold-to-consumer figures. Does anyone know for a fact which of the two this 600k stat represents?
Peter Moore, President, EA SPORTS. "This is, by far, the most successful launch of any Wii title in EA history, and even more encouraging is that our second week sales worldwide were as strong as our first week.."
Based on the Kotaku live blog of EA's conference:
They've sold over 600K units so far. The most successful EA Wii launch ever.
This Holiday they are bringing out an EA Sports Active expansion, with 30 new exercise set in a tropical island theme.

NPD Top 10 is not the be all and end all either.
