A host of 343 Industries job ads appeared on the official Microsoft site on July 1, advertising for help on a new Halo project.
One of them read: '343 Industries, Microsoft's internal Halo studio, is looking for an experienced Missions Designer who can design and build missions for our next big project.'
Looks like Paul got the post - and that the game's underway.
The Xbox game “Halo: Reach worldwide release scheduled for 14th September was announced. Considered the largest blockbuster game of the year, “Halo: Reach”, which will be released on September 15 in Japan, was the inspiration for the bestselling New York Times, comic books, action figures, clothing, among others, and sold over 34 million games worldwide to date.
Consider that Modern Warfare 2 is at 1,022.92, http://www.simexchange.com/stock.php?id=556, and that it was not an exclusive as Halo: Reach is. Halo is a franchise with much more hype historically than CoD. An estimate I saw read that Halo 3 sold more than 12 million copies. Many more gamers have purchased 360's since Halo 3's release and Halo will probably remain the multiplayer game of choice for at least the newer, casual gamers. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see any way Reach sells less than 13-14 million copies and I think the pre-release hype will push this stock higher than that. I think the more than 1 million gamers signing up for the beta on the first day alone, http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/108/1089044p1.html, speaks significantly as to how this game will do.
Legendary edition set to retail for $150 and will contain an individually numbered and hand-painted 10 inch Noble Team statue made by McFarlane Toys and exclusive multiplayer armour.
peaking to Bungie at the Halo 3: ODST press event, we found out that Halo: Reach would be Bungie's last hurrah in the franchise it created. at least for this generation.
"In terms of a platform for Halo games made by Bungie, yes Reach is the last one," confirmed the game's senior designer Lars Bakken. "I can't answer that question about MS - whether they have something in the works or not. But in terms of Bungie-produced Halo games, ODST and Reach is all you're going to get on 360."
