@ixaarii, That is a very good question. Halo is not like most other games. Most game sell a ton at first, then just lessen in sales weekly. But with both Halo 1 and halo 2 it took about a year to drop in price due to high sales. Also, after every price drop the sales increase more and more.
The only question I have is about whether the NPD considers giving free copies out with the purchase of the system a sale. That will push more and more units of the game for sure.

It is also a good idea to link to sources rather than news of sources if at all possible because it can prevent errors such as the one your link has made.
There is a CATCH to this promotion.
1. You must be an Xbox Live member in good standing as of Nov 20th (on an original Xbox not a 360)
2. You must upgrade to a GOLD live membership
3. This promotion is useless to those purchasing an Arcade Xbox unless they also purchase the external hard drive add on.
I'm very curious as to what lead to such a big drop recently. At one point I did short but then decided to get out because it's just too hot, after searching for halo 2 sales big numbers seemed possible considering the huge campaign. So, again, wondering if somebody playing this might explain to me what could have lead to such a big drop considering that the the big holidays haven't even started yet and MS is advertising Halo as their prime holiday title. (don't have any stocks/short, just curious)
In an interview with develop magazine, Bungie studio manager Harold Ryan talks more in depth about the Microsoft / Bungie split and confirms that they are working various new projects including a brand new IP.
Bungie's Frankie teases us with scant details about new maps that the team has been working on for future downloadable content. While he doesn't get into their official names he does nickname three of them and gives a little bit of a description.
As can happen the sales data for September 2007 has been modified as more and more stores report their information. Because of this early reporting is often close but inaccurate.
