Found something: Speaking at CES 09 at the Las Vegas Convention centre last night, Microsoft’s president of the Entertainment and Devices Division, Robbie Bach, said that 25 million Halo games have been sold so far in the franchise.
He went on to say that the average Halo 3 Xbox Live players average at about 150 hours of gameplay.
Bach also added that 3 million people signed up for its Live service within the last three months.
After several months of unplanned silence ("This was the project we originally were intending to announce at E3," they say), Bungie finally revealed Halo 3: Recon at TGS. We had an opportunity to talk with Luke Smith and Brian Jerrard during a group meeting in Tokyo this morning and Jerrard briefly addressed some of the more obvious questions we were bound to have:
The Halo 3 singleplayer expansion now has a setting and a rough release date. The expansion will serve as a prequel to the events of Halo 3, with the player taking the role of an ODST recon marine, who is our "new hero" for a "new campaign". The expansion will be out in "Fall 2009", with screenshots and video expected sometime soon.
In an unfortunate cross-cultural coincidence, Halo developer Bungie has inadvertently drawn parallels to a famous child abduction case to promote its new Halo 3 expansion pack. In a new teaser trailer, which depicts a war-torn city landscape, various messages flash up on the screen, including one that asks "Maddie, where are you?"
Also they have made it so you need the legendary map pack which costs 600 points to play Ranked Doubles, something which i really wasnt too pleased about.
