Update: Raindbow Six Vegas (Xbox 360) sold another 376,500 copies in December (making the 2x Nov rule) for a total of 502,000 copies sold in North America according to VGcharts. I think this stock is actually on target.
Rainbow Six Vegas only sold 125,500 copies in November. This is no where near what Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent did in October before plummeting in November. I know these are are different kind of games (tactical shooter vs stealth) but I think the franchises have similar strength (or maybe Splinter Cell is slightly stronger), yet Vegas is priced higher than Double Agent.
I was stunned at the number of bugs in this game in the article submitted by bcrabbe. It seems like this is becoming a trend in Ubi's top franchises. In Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, I noticed multiple cinematic sequences where the audio went out of sync or just stopped entirely. There is also a game-breaking bug where you can reach an area you're not supposed to, save the game, and become stuck forever. Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones had a similar problem, but you could not proceed to a save point so your file would not be ruined. These things wouldn't be happening if studios weren't under such pressure to put these titles out every year.
Just watched the "Death from my gun" video. The transition from the new "third-person back to wall" perspective back to first-person perspective is pretty bad. It like a sudden pause in action.
