I think the Xbox 360 version is gaining ground vs the Ps3 version because of the dramatically larger 360 installbase over the PS3 installbase. Hmmsphil commented over on the 360 page that there's a poll from the official site that says 59% are planning to get it for the 360 while only 24% are looking for it on PS3.
However, I think the fact that there is more competition on the 360 is a good argument. If this turns out to be a great game fundamentally, then PS3 buyers should be raiding the stores to get it because they don't have much else to play. If the game comes out around the same time as Halo 3, the 360 version will have stiff competition.
I second eRock's questioning on the performance of these two. This is certainly a remarkable game that will sell well on either console. However, compared to the existing stables of comparable games for both consoles, this seems like an even bigger win for the PS3. The only reason I can see for the low expectations on this is ludicrously low expectations of the sales of the PS3, which the state of the PS3 stock would seem to defy.
This title should do well, especially with a PlayStation crowd (who famously kind to stealthy assassin games) but people need to keep in mind that it is rated "M" and a bit niche for an action game.
If it doesn't launch too soon (before more PS3s sell) I expect this game to sell 1.2 - 1.5M units.
This game will sell well for many reasons. But I firmly believe that it will do well simply because their are a lot of ps3's out there, and a lack of decent games for it. This will be one of the first good games for the ps3 and will sell well. The same thing happened with CoD2 on the xbox 360 didn't it?
I agree, this game looks awesome and hopefully it will deliver upon all its promises. If it does this game is going to be big, though it all depends upon the install base of the PS3 itself.
IMO no reason this shouldnt be atleast 150-200 minimum. I only say this because I think most people who own a PS3 will buy this, because the hype of the persia staff and most people who own a ps3 are into games hardcore. Just my opinon.

The 360 will sell more copies simply because of the larger install base. The competition will be stiffer so it will see a lower attachment rate
The PS3 Should sell more because of a lack of good games for it right? so it has a high attach rate.
