1 Up Review : A

So with the classic, new-school, and infinitely customizable character roster at the ready, and with online play fully operational, it's not a stretch to say this might be 2008's best fighting game. Some other hot fighters are on the horizon, but considering how fun Soul Calibur 4 is after a month of nonstop play, I think it'd be hard to top what Namco's accomplished with what is unquestionably their best fighting game to date.

Soul Calibur Dated for US

IGN - April 16, 2008

Submitted by Makidian (555) at 7:52AM PST on April 16, 2008

Namco Bandai has revealed the launch date for the latest in the Soulcalibur series, with the fourth installment due to hit the US on July 29. There's still no news of a European release date, though we can expect it some time before the leaves brown. Soulcalibur IV has taken the somewhat remarkable step of introducing Star War's Yoda and Darth Vader to the mix, and looks to capitalize on online play.
