Guild Wars franchise sells 6 million copies

Joystiq - April 25, 2009

According to Videogamer.com, NCsoft and ArenaNet announced today that the Guild Wars franchise has now sold over 6 million copies. To celebrate the news, the subscription-free MMO will receive a new content update that will add new quests and more storage options. The party will also be extended into the Guild Wars universe itself starting April 28. We're not sure what the in-game celebration will entail, but we can only hope it will involve digital party hats and confetti.

Guild Wars 2 Release Follow-up

How can you delay a game that never had a set release date to begin with? This is the logic ArenaNet's Mike O'Brien pointed out in a recent open letter to Guild Wars 2 fans. Speculation about the 'delay' began late last week when ArenaNet's parent company, NCsoft, released their Q4 2008 financials that scheduled a 2010-2011 release for GW2.

Guild Wars starts celebrating 4th birthday early

Crikey, has it really been four years since Guild Wars launched? Apparently so as the official site has just been updated for the game's fourth anniversary, which is happening on April 28th. As with any birthday there are going to be plenty of presents (and of course Birthday Cupcakes) except ArenaNet are the ones doing the giving!
