Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith today confirmed that Call of Duty creator Infinity Ward, which most recently handled Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, will return to the franchise next year with Call of Duty 6.

Activision Raising Prices in the UK for Modern Warfare

Activision has just sent British retailers the information that Modern Warfare will have the SRP of £54.99 ($90.00). This is a £5.00 ($10) increase from the usual SRP of big games. In an interview with MCV UK Ian Curran, THQ EVP of worldwide publishing, says, "Exchange rates between the Euro and the pound are making it very difficult for publishers to show an acceptable operating margin in the UK."

Activision announced 4 new games

While No extra information was added Activision just annouced four new games to release in 2009. Guitar Hero 5, a new Tony hawk game, A james bond racing game and Call of Duty 6. Call of Duty 6 has been changed to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. But no information has been released to show that Infinity Ward is the developer.

Activision Blizzard has briefed its advertising agency TBWA to make the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 the "biggest entertainment launch of all time". The publisher wants the Infinity Ward-developed title to eclipse previous records set by games such as Grand Theft Auto IV, which sold 3.6 million units on its first day with a retail value of USD 310 million.
