EA resurrects online version of its people-simulator under the new name EA Land. After failing to spark the imagination of The Sims fanbase first time out, EA has resurrected its MMO adaptation of its famous franchise under the new name EA Land. Based on the architecture behind The Sims Online, the free-to-play title offers several improvements on the first game. The 12 separate cities of before have been combined to form one virtual super-city.

Is Ubisoft Next On EA's Shopping List?

Kotaku - February 25, 2008

EA's attempt at snatching up Take-Two Interactive for $2 billion in cash may not have been as warmly welcomed as CEO John Riccitiello had hoped, but it may have a back up plan. It's clear that EA is serious about trying to absorb Take-Two, even going as far as registering eatake2.com—yeah, they're into this for tens of dollars already—and it may be also be set on welcoming someone else into the fold soon.

Regain the lost Creativity

NY Times - February 19, 2008

EA, once known for its bold vision, has stagnated. It has been surpassed as the industry leader by Activision, maker of Guitar Hero and Call of Duty series.;;;Mr. Riccitiello is promising a new path. Recently EA agreed to acquire BioWare and Pandemic, two of the most respected game studios, for more than $800 million. Mr. Riccitiello is promising a new corporate humility that will allow those studios to flourish in their own ways.

Interview with Peter Moore

IGN - February 5, 2008

Although EA Sports President Peter Moore's been a prominent figure within the industry for as long as IGN's existed, he'd never attended a Madden Bowl. Although our interview was hijacked by a random elderly passerby who was confused by the concept of what a video game was, we did get to chat with Moore about what's on the horizon for EA Sports in 2008.
