EA Confirms EA Chicago is Closing

Kotaku.com - November 6, 2007

Submitted by feelmyring (351) at 11:55AM PST on November 6, 2007

"Within the EA Games Label, we are committed to running each franchise and facility as a city/state, teams with unique creative identities as well as responsibility for product quality, ship dates and profitability....Unfortunately, EA Chicago hasn't been able to meet that standard....Closing EA Chicago is the toughest decision I've made in my career - one that in no way reflects on the talent and dedication of the people who work there."

Peter Moore express dismay at the ongoing delay of Sony's Home service for PlayStation 3. The EA Sports president's comments came less than 24 hours after PlayStation boss Kaz Hirai apologised again for the latest delay to Sony's ambitious online social networking project, with a release now set for this autumn. "I really hope it gets going and becomes that portal to the PlayStation Network and we can utilise it. But boy, I just wish we'd get going"

EA making Wii fitness game

Eurogamer - May 8, 2008

Submitted by apujanata (14935) at 4:24AM PST on May 8, 2008

We're watching very closely what the Wii Fit board does. We're working on stuff, trying to work out how we can use EA Sports applications there. I need to have a point of difference. We also need to make sure we're delivering something that's truly exercise. We need to look more at western fitness in which I can actually be moving and start to sweat a little bit, and that's what we're working on right now.

First Take-Two, next EA's own console?

VideoGamer.com - March 3, 2008

Submitted by llonesmiz (508) at 9:01AM PST on March 4, 2008

Some commentators have started to look past what many feel is the inevitable takeover of Take-Two and begun to predict what might be next for EA's collective. Ubisoft has been mooted, as has SCi. I would say this - don't discount an even more surprising, and more exciting, move - the announcement of an EA console.
